Hickory Chore Jacket
A contemporary take on the French chore coat. The silhouette is shortened and widened, with dropped shoulders, a cropped hem and a relaxed, boxy fit.
The jacket is cut from reclaimed hickory stripe, a cotton twill historically used for railway and industrial workwear. Here it is treated as a material worth preserving. Its natural fading and wear are left intact, and the distressing is reinforced by hand with boro-inspired repairs. Patches of darker hickory are set beneath the surface and secured with visible navy darning, so the repair becomes part of the design rather than something concealed.
A hand-dyed collar in muted, clouded pink softens the utilitarian base. Three patch pockets and deep brown buttons keep the original workwear proportions.
Each piece is made individually in our Barcelona studio. Because the fabric is reclaimed, variations in stripe, tone and repair placement are inherent, and no two jackets are the same.
